Service Description

Each session will have a different theme focusing on different elements of gundog training at a Novice standard. Please check the requirements of each session and self assess suitability before booking. If you are unsure please contact me before booking. 4th August: steadiness to movement; impulse control; using play as a reward for steadiness. 18th August: directional handling on retrieves - left, right and back casts (dog must want to retrieve). 8th September: advancing whistle commands - stop, recall, turn; when to use each whistle; how to troubleshoot whistle problems. 22nd September: dual dog handling (one handler with two dogs OR two handlers with one dog each from same household). You only need to pay for one place per pair of dogs. 6th October: steadiness; stop whistle; honouring other dogs retrieves. 27th October: building confidence on blind retrieves; straight lines (dog must want to retrieve). 10th November: heelwork; grids; precision handling. 8th December: training scurry exercises. 22nd December: Christmas scurry (with prizes!). Any breed or cross is welcome. Eligibility: dogs over 6 months, not aggressive, not in season, Novice standard.
